RAISING OUR LITTERS:
Whelping takes place in our home with a lot of extra comforts to ensure the dams are as comfortable as possible. A designated "nursery" room is set up so there is plenty of privacy and quiet time away from the rest of the household. A special whelping box with numerous options of clean sheets and bedding, thermostat-controlled room temperature, free feed food and water, window, privacy gate, 24/7 remote camera viewing and a cabinetry full of supplies is on board to help our dams welcome the new babies into this world! This has been the most convenient and best way I have found so I am able to be available to our dams at all times during delivery and the crucial first few weeks of development.
Puppies then live in our home with their dam up until about 4-5 weeks of age. At that time, we move the crew out to what we call the "puppy apartment", which is a fully livable/finished addition off of our shop that we have converted to taking care of our growing puppies. It is fully equipped to take on the demands of active puppies, as well as all the necessities to keep everything in tip top clean shape. Puppies have access to an outdoor covered run during the day and are inside at night, as well as our upstairs finished training room, and when supervised, 7 acers of pure dog heaven play time outside!
While the puppies are in our care, we pay special attention to the developmental stages the puppies are going through and heavily follow the Puppy Culture protocol when raising litters from weeks 1-8. From pre-natal care, early neurological stimulation, weaning, socializing, potty training and problem-solving puzzles, we strive to shape our puppies appropriately to communicate with us and be strong enrichment seekers ready to take on life's adventures!
DEPOSITS:
Deposits are accepted towards upcoming litters. Your non-refundable deposit of $300 will hold your position to pick from available puppies and will also count towards the final purchase price. If you have placed a deposit and there is not a puppy available of your preference, your deposit will be moved forward to our next planned and available litter. Please contact me to place a deposit via Venmo, PayPal or Cash.
PUPPY SELECTION PROCESS:
Time of selection will depend on if we are planning to hold back any puppies for our program. We may hold a group of puppies until we evaluate them at 7 or 8 weeks of age, or earliest selection will be no sooner than 2 weeks of age. Selections will be made in the order of deposits received, via individual pictures and video that will be posted to our web page, weekly. We do not allow visitors to our home due to bio-securities to protect our dogs and puppies. We reserve the right to choose any puppy, at any time, for our program.
TAKING YOUR PUPPY HOME:
Puppies will be ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks of age and will have had their first vaccination, appropriate rounds of dewormer, checked by a veterinarian, tails docked and front dew claws are left intact. Puppies will come with limited registration paperwork (pet only, not for breeding) through the American Kennel Club (AKC) and/or Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA).
Final CASH ONLY payment is due at pick up.
Puppies must be picked up in person no later than 9 weeks of age. Shipping is an option but will be at the buyer's expense.
We offer puppy jump start training program. You have the option to enroll your new puppy into a 4 week training program here at Taneum Creek. Your puppy will learn basic obedience (leash work, sit, stay, down, target mark, self load into crate, sit for opening of doors, food placement, etc.), manding, body handling (examining teeth, mouth, eyes, ears, dremel to trim nails, etc.), stacking, crate training and beginning potty training. You will have a private training session with your puppy at pick up. This program ensures your puppy will transition easier into your new home and gives you a head start on your puppy's training. Please see link above in the tabs for more information!
